North Carolina Credit Union Division
The N.C. Credit Union Division is a regulatory agency, created in 1915. The division is operated under the supervision of the Administrator of Credit Unions. It receives no general fund or tax revenues, but is funded exclusively from fees paid by the regulated credit unions.
The Administrator is an active member of the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors. The division received its accreditation from NASCUS in 1992 and continues to maintain this status, which designates a high standard of excellence in the regulation and supervision of credit unions.
The Credit Union Division is composed of the Administrator, Assistant Administrator, Deputy Administrator, Examination Manager, Examiners, Administrative Officer, and staff. It is the Division’s mission to promote and assist in the formation of credit unions, and to ensure the safety and soundness of the credit unions and their compliance with applicable laws through yearly examinations and other means.
The Credit Union Division's pages provide information regarding this agency’s statutory responsibilities, the laws governing state-chartered credit unions, and other related information. This site offers access to frequently requested forms and links to other related websites.

From the Administrator
The National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors (NASCUS) and the Carolinas Credit Union League have organized the Sixth Annual NC Directors’ College to be held May 20, 2014 in Charlotte. I would like to invite you to attend, and encourage your participation in this very important and relevant one-day session. I have attached an agenda, noting topics addressing vital areas including current national issues, Bank Secrecy Act, risk-based capital, and corporate governance. Although developed for board members, this year’s session also includes areas of interest for the Supervisory Committee. Managers and other volunteers are welcome.
Registration is $199 per person for NASCUS members and $215 for non-members, which includes lunch. Please click the link below to register:
